I’ve really missed the Family.

And it’s wonderful to be home, enjoying the back porch Boone night air.

I’m wondering

if Nick and I are going to survive the summer. There is too much stress.

"I have to tell you that over the course of several years as I have talked to friends and family and neighbors when I think about members of my own staff who are in incredibly committed monogamous relationships, same-sex relationships, who are raising kids together, when I think about those soldiers or airmen or marines or sailors who are out there fighting on my behalf and yet feel constrained, even now that Don’t Ask Don’t Tell is gone, because they are not able to commit themselves in a marriage, at a certain point I’ve just concluded that for me personally it is important for me to go ahead and affirm that I think same sex couples should be able to get married."

Attn: activists, allies, neighbors, and friends:

I hope you all take a moment to meditate on what has happened in North Carolina today. Our state voted, 61/39%, and passed an amendment that will restrict the rights of, and discriminate against, many of the people and families who live here.

Do not be disheartened. We may have lost this battle, but we are now armed with information. We are now armed with a fervent passion and a sense of true community with those around us. We will rise up stronger. There are too many educated, industrious people against this cause for us to let it die quietly.

Comrades, you now know what we are up against: 61% of people need to be enlightened and informed about basic human rights in our state. It is our civil duty remain steadfast and firm in our intentions, and to help foster an accepting and tolerant attitude in our fellow North Carolinians. Remember this when responding to today’s news.

Persist!

Celebrating the end of my math exam with

a whiskey and water, and some back porch time with my boy.

Then getting back on the productivity train.

Just had the biggest meltdown ever.

Almost lost 2+ hours of work for the SECOND time this week, due to some autosave bullshit on my computer. Had a meltdown. Found it. Relief.

I swear, spring exams always fall on the week when I’m PMS-ing the hardest, and I’m super stressed.

Stoner Pocahontas.

"

It happens when a father realizes he doesn’t just love his daughter, but also her wife. It happens when a soldier tells his unit that he’s gay, and they tell him they knew it all along and they didn’t care, because he was the toughest guy in the unit. It happens when a video sparks a movement to let every single young person know they’re not alone, and things will get better.

It happens when peo…ple look past their ultimately minor differences to see themselves in the hopes and struggles of their fellow human beings. That’s where change is happening.

And that’s not just the story of the gay rights movement. That’s the story of America—the slow, inexorable march towards a more perfect union.

The answer to everything according to my friends.

I have the worst feeling that I’m having a relapse of Mono.

Aw man, this sucks.

About Me

earth mother

Would you lend me an engaging book and text me woeful song lyrics in the early morning? I am a dandelion wisher and a free thinker. I want to paint you small pictures and bring you bright smiles. My mind is beautiful and open and free; so it shall remain. Being barefoot in the green grass is my idea of a good time. I treasure inside jokes, little notes, and insects.

Well, I stay in love.
